My name is K.R. Grace. When I'm not working the day job, managing housework, and wrangling with the dog, I write quirky romance novels.
I live in a small East Tennessee town, which is often the setting for my novels. While I moved around a bit as a child, I will always call the Smoky Mountains my home.
I've always had an overactive imagination. Whether it was story building with my Barbies or embellishing the events of what happened in school to make it seem more exciting (imagine aliens landing on the playground challenging earthlings to a dance-off. Cool, right?!), I was always "writing."
I'd love to say I live a exciting life, but I'm a total introvert. Give me my comfy pants, a binge-worthy show on Netflix, and a jar of Nutella any day. Okay, so I also like going into the mountains, boating out on the lake, and attending the occasional concert, but you get the gist.
I'm a huge animal lover, which is why I gravitated to writing about shifters of all types. Squirrels, skunks, coyotes, raccoons, humpback whales, you name it, they're all in my books.
My heroines are often awkward, quirky and independent and come in all shapes and sizes...and the heroes love them for it. I write about what I know, and I believe the best stories involve real, relatable characters. (Okay, so I don't know what it's like to shift into an alligator, but I do know a thing or two about being a band nerd.)
There is sexual tension in my stories, because every good relationship needs to have that toe-curling quality to them (at least in my world, anyway).
I'm a hopeless romantic that will not read a book unless it has a happy ending. Which means, no matter what I put my characters through, you can always count on a happily-ever-after ending.
