Christine is happily married and keeps busy with her 2 children & pottery business.
They live in the little town of Los Osos at the back of the bay in California & always have. Growing up in this beautiful area Christine couldn’t help but be inspired by nature, birds, leaves, flowers, and the ocean. She was raised by artists and crafters and has been creating her whole life. Christine was taught how to look at things, not for what they are but for what they can become, and now teaches her children how to create - and can’t think of a better way to live.
10 THINGS CHRISTINE LOVES...
1. To sit down in her studio and think of what to create next.
2. Try new things, though perfecting the old is not so bad either.
3. Use old things in a new way. It connects the past to the present.
4. Finding new textures and colours to play with.
5. Create one of a kind pieces. Each piece is made a little different so you know that you are the only one who has that exact one.
6. Create treasures of all kinds, pots, mugs, buttons, beads, tiny teapots, jewellery, tiles, especially little things.
7. Watch her children create, she gets lots of ideas from them (things I would never think of).
8. Have coffee or a tea party with girlfriends and talk about what inspires them.
9. Share and give gifts to friends & family.

My Back Bay Pottery Top 3:

These pretty little dishes are hand formed from dark red stoneware clay and glazed in aqua mist colour. The tiny birds are hand sculpted and perched on the edge. There are two birds on the largest dish and one bird on each of the smaller dishes.
Approximate measurements:
3.5" - 2" diameter

THIS IS FOR A SET OF THREE (3) NESTING BIRD DISHES
These pretty little dishes are hand formed from dark red stoneware clay and glazed in aqua mist colour. The tiny birds are hand sculpted and perched on the edge. There are two birds on the largest dish and one bird on each of the smaller dishes.

The sponge holder is handmade on a potters wheel from smooth stoneware clay & glazed in the colour of your choice. (This one is Emerald Green). The sides are cut to make room for a sponge and a little hand formed bird is perched on the edge. It is hand designed with a special slip trailing technique. The texture beautifully breaks through the glaze to reveal the design.

As with all handmade pottery every piece has its own unique handmade character and may have slightly different sizes, shapes and colour variations. Moulds are never used and each piece is made one at a time. Lead free glaze is used & high fired in the kiln. Each piece is signed Back Bay Pottery and initialled.
