A beautifully written insight into World War 2 New York, and the strength of the women left behind. What I Learned: I love this quote...I think we all have a dark side, some of us just hide it better - what is it they say about having to watch the quiet ones? I do believe that sometimes we have to create our own luck, as in we have to be able to recognise the opportunities that luck can present to us, and be ready to act on them. Always look for the doors when it looks like there are none...and if you still can't see a door, use a window! I was discussing this with my 14 year old daughter the other day. She feels under a certain amount of pressure at school to know what she wants to do later on in life. I know a lot of people who are my age who still don't know what they want to be when they grow up, and I also know some who very early on knew exactly what they wanted to do, and single mindedly went after it, but things happened, as they
