What I Learned - Beneath the Water by Sarah Painter
A gorgeous novel set in the gorgeous wee Scottish village of Arisaig. Amazing descriptions of one of my favourite parts of Scotland, and a beautiful story cleverly entwined with mysteries from the past. An absolute must read. What I Learned: Maybe we should all try to be a little bit more aware. Maybe then we would make the most of the minutes we have. I just love this perfect description of the Scottish landscape. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've rounded a corner and been utterly surprised by a body of water, or a mountain, or some other hidden treasure that you had no inkling was there. And the light! I've seen this light. Frequently. You never see the same view twice up here thanks to the ever changing light. We're so incredible lucky. Anyone who has trouble sleeping can relate to this. Sometimes you just need to switch your brain off. I wonder if incredible authors like this one realise that this
