A beautifully executed story about how one American Iranian Muslim experiences and deals with a severe clash of cultures...unputdownable!!!! What I Learned: I thought this was just me...Zoha is a wise woman! I think this is a familiar feeling for most teens, and even a lot of adults...I was talking to one 50 year old the other day who still feels like this. It's sometimes really difficult to "fit in" when you feel that how you live your life is different to what you think your family expect. Again I think this is a familiar feeling, regardless of culture. I think we all keep a part of the real "us" back from those closest to us in case we disappoint them and don't measure up. Not just in a marriage, in any relationship, be it romantic or friendship. I really hope that I've told this to my daughter enough for her to believe it. If the respect isn't there, then walk away.
