This Joanna Trollope book is part of The Austen Project where 6 best selling authors retell Austen's classics for the modern day, and it is brilliantly done! What I Learned : If quite often said that I would rather be on my own than with someone who wasn't sure if they wanted to be with me or not...and if Austen and Trollope agree then really who am I to argue? Always - go out and make a start - take that first step. What is there to lose? I am rubbish at asking for help, always feel like a bit of a failure, so this is a good one to try and remember. If only she hadn't been interrupted! This is a great line. Always rely on you to make you happy, and anything over and above that is just a happy bonus! Never put your happiness in someone else's hands. Another great line, and great because it is so true. Be the person you want to be around! It's a game changer! How cynical is this?
