What I Learned - Miss Peregrine's School for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is such an unusual joy of a book. Ransom Riggs has built his story around genuine vintage & antique pictures of, amongst other things, oddities, and it is fascinating.
I have found myself looking for old photographs at car boot sales & in antique stores now, because you never know what will spark a story!
What I Learned:
I love how perceptive and true this is... Santa Claus and the tooth fairy spring to mind (I am 36 and Santa still brings me a magical Christmas stocking (in a football sock I might add!) every year without fail!)
Also incredibly perceptive and true...go through that door and give yourself space to breathe...and sometimes when you go back through the door things take on a whole new perspective.
It always amazes me how often it's the people in life who have been through the most whoa re the most honourable and good and brave people you could ever hope to meet. Is it down to empathy? Or endurance? They have been through the worst experiences life has to offer and have nothing to lose? I don't know the answer to this, but I do know that some of the most inspirational people in life are the ones with a story to tell.
I believe that everyone has something extraordinary to them! Always look for that magic, that special uniqueness. Don't be afraid to let yours shine, and always encourage it in others! People - including you - are amazing!
