The Road to Skye Day 2 Part 2
We spotted a gorgeous church and graveyard a wee bit up the road, next to a loch which was a perfect stop for our long awaited bacon buttie...
A little further up the path is this old church and cemetery...and the thing we were struck by was just how many MacRaes are in here...
We cheated after lunch and sat in the van and read while we waited for the rain to go off before we went exploring - but that's what camper vans are for, right?
The first thing we discovered was a new footpath up to the war memorial called Kevin's Way, together with a memorial, built to commemorate a young lad killed in a road accident...
A little further up the path is this old church and cemetery...and the thing we were struck by was just how many MacRaes are in here...
We found 2 Commonwealth War Graves in here...
and some beautiful old celtic stones...
There was also a big MacRae memorial...
and this beautifully simple metal cross (I've never seen anything like this before)
And the obligatory photograph of my beautiful photograph taking daughter who's blog you can find at Rionnagan
I've had to split this post into 2 as there are so many pictures, so watch out for more from here!
