Well the sun has definitely hidden itself away again in my wee part of the world this week, and coupled with the fact that exams for my teenager are firmly underway, trying to maintain the Zen in this household has become a daily challenge - although there's always the escape of a good book right? Came across this book in a charity shop - a different sort of read for me but I loved it! What I Learned: I think this should read "friends & family". I am so lucky to have such lovely people in my life helping me along in their own quiet way, as is my daughter. You know who you are. Especially pertinent to me this week in particular. I will share just why in a later post. All I will say just now is that if you can do a kindness for someone, no matter how small, then don't hesitate, do it right now. You have no idea how much any kindness may mean to them. I love this...any direction is definitely way better than sitting still...and sometimes the wrong direction is where you find the most unexpected treasures (see my travel posts for proof of this!) I'm actually sitting in bed feeling pretty rubbish but I thought I'd try and cheer myself up a bit by picking ten more books to add to my wish list..so here they are: The Waking Forest by Alyssa Wees (Teen & YA) The waking forest has secrets. Lots of gems of wisdom gleaned from this heart-breaking ultra-romantic tale...but make sure you have your tissues and waterproof mascara at the ready because I guarantee you will sob. What I Learned: Just brilliant - and the book this is quoted from has just been added to my never-ending wish list! Its true for me that sometimes I feel that life is just going too quickly to fit in all the things I want to do and achieve. What a gorgeous description of first love in particular and that moment when you just 'know', just by being close to them. Beautiful. Awwww....so so many moments in this book that have just made me go "Awwww". *sighs deeply* It's almost enough to make someone as old and cynical and jaded as me believe again! Oh for that feeling when it feels like everything is ahead and the whole world is at your feet...almost like you are invincible and together literally anything is possible.
